Following a collision between two Nissan pickup Sukhtbari trucks on the Mehrestan–Sarbaz road, near the village of Kafeh Balochi, at least four Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives in the ensuing fire.

According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, November 9, 2025, a crash occurred between two Sukhtbari Nissan pickup trucks on the Mehrestan–Sarbaz route, between the village of Kafeh Balochi. At least four Baloch Sukhtbars were burned to death in the flames.
The four deceased Baloch Sukhtbars are identified as Yaser Shakeri, 22, son of Hasan, Amirhossein Shakeri, 17, son of Eid Mohammad, both from Jaleq in Golshan County, Mahim Askani, 57, son of Nour Mohammad, from the village of Nag Pahn in Mehrestan and Naser Askani, about 28, son of Mehrab, from the village of Zatan in Mehrestan.
According to the report, after the collision, both Sukhtbari vehicles caught fire, and all four passengers were killed in the flames.
Sukhtbari is considered one of the unconventional and dangerous jobs that many Baloch people in Balochistan have been forced to turn to due to the lack of suitable and stable employment. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct gunfire from military and security forces are among the dangers that threaten the lives of these Sukhtbars. According to reports from Baloch activists, in the year 2024, at least 375 Baloch Sukhtbars have been injured or lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires. Of this number, 240 Sukhtbars were killed and 135 were injured, representing a 55% increase in the number of killed and injured Sukhtbars compared to the year 2023.
