Saqqez: Citizen Remains in Prolonged Detention Without Judicial Determination in Central Prison

Reza Rajabi, a 58-year-old resident of Saqqez and a local shopkeeper, remains in Saqqez Central Prison without judicial determination 10 days after his arrest.

According to Kolbarnews, Reza Rajabi, son of Ali, was initially held for two nights in the detention facility of the Saqqez Intelligence Office, where he was interrogated, before being transferred to the city’s Central Prison. Despite more than a week having passed since his transfer to prison, no official information has been released regarding the reason for his arrest, the charges brought against him, the status of the judicial proceedings, or the date of any court hearing.

The 58-year-old, who is the father of two children, continues to be held in legal limbo in Saqqez Central Prison. Despite repeated inquiries and follow-up efforts by his family, they have so far been unable to obtain any clear information regarding the status of his case, the reasons for his continued detention, or the timeline for a judicial determination.
