Bukan; Rasul Yadyar Sentenced to 9 Years in Prison and Two-Year Travel Ban

Rasul Yadyar, a citizen from Bukan who had previously spent months in the custody of security institutions and was reportedly subjected to torture, has been sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of the county to nine years of discretionary imprisonment and a two-year ban on leaving the country.

According to Kolbarnews, Rasul Yadyar, a resident of Bukan, was recently sentenced by Branch Two of the Revolutionary Court of the county, presided over by Judge Mahdi Fakhri, to a total of nine years of discretionary imprisonment and a two-year travel ban on charges of “membership in opposition parties against the Islamic Republic of Iran” and “propaganda against the state.” The verdict was issued at the preliminary stage and may be appealed before higher judicial authorities.

Rasul Yadyar was arrested on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at his workplace, a bakery, by order of the investigator of Branch Two of the Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office in Bukan. Simultaneously with his arrest, security agents also confiscated his vehicle and several personal belongings.

According to received information, the personal vehicle of this citizen, which had been kept inside the compound of the Bukan Intelligence Department, was completely destroyed during Israeli airstrikes targeting the security center. Nevertheless, the responsible authorities have so far refused to compensate his family for the damages.

Following his arrest, Rasul Yadyar spent more than four months in the detention center of the Intelligence Department and Bukan Central Prison. During this period, he was deprived of access to legal counsel, in-person visits, and contact with his family. Reports also indicate that he was subjected to severe physical torture during interrogations, resulting in injuries to various parts of his body, including his hands, nose, and jaw, and the loss of several teeth.

Informed sources further stated that despite his urgent need for medical treatment, security and judicial institutions created obstacles preventing the completion of his treatment process and his temporary release. He was eventually released temporarily from prison on Saturday, May 23, 2026, after posting bail set at 6 billion tomans pending the completion of judicial proceedings.

Rasul Yadyar is married and originally from the village of Gok Tapeh in Bukan County and currently resides in the village of Nachit in the same county.

Security pressure against the Yadyar family has not been limited to the arrest of Rasul Yadyar. Previously, his three brothers Nasser Yadyar, Mousa Yadyar, and Hamza Yadyar were also arrested by Intelligence Department forces on the evening of February 11, 2026. After approximately two months in detention, the three citizens were temporarily released on bail on April 12, 2026.
