Kermanshah (Kerend); 6 Days of Detention and No Information on the Fate of a Yarsani Family

Six days after the arbitrary arrest of a Yarsani family in the city of Kerend, a district of Dalahu County, named Seyed Farshad Shafiei, Seyedeh Ghazal Shafiei, and Elham Mehrabi, there is still no information about their fate or place of detention.

According to Kolbarnews, at around 3:00 a.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026, security forces raided the home of Seyed Farshad Shafiei, a 45-year-old father, Seyedeh Ghazal Shafiei, a 23-year-old daughter, and Elham Mehrabi, the mother of the family, in the city of Kerend, and without presenting a judicial warrant, arrested all three family members and transferred them to an unknown location.

Based on the information received, this family was arrested following their participation in peaceful public protests in Kerend, Dalahu, and since the time of their arrest, no contact or information regarding their condition has been made available to their family and relatives.

It should be noted that Seyedeh Ghazal Shafiei, born on January 18, 2003, is a tanbur musician and instructor.

As of the time of preparing this report, security institutions and judicial authorities have provided no official explanation regarding the reason for the arrest or the place of detention of this family.
