A five-year-old Baloch child lost his life due to drowning in a water tank in the Komb area of Chabahar.
According to Kolbarnews, on Tuesday, May 28, 2023, a five-year-old child identified as “Mobin Bejarzehi,” son of Farzan and resident of Komb, Chabahar, lost his life due to drowning in a water tank in the Komb area of Chabahar.
It is noteworthy that Komb is one of the largest and most populous villages in Balochistan and Iran, where the residents live with minimal infrastructure and amenities.
Hootak, or hootag, is a dug pit used for storing water, primarily for agricultural purposes, but in recent years, due to the water crisis in Balochistan, people have been using hootak water for drinking and household purposes.
According to the Baloch Activists Campaign, in 2023 alone, a total of 98 cases of child rights violations have been recorded in Balochistan. At least 27 children have been killed, 17 children injured, 3 children have drowned, 38 children have been detained, and tragically, one child bride has been killed by gunshot.
