A massive explosion at a stone mine on the Haftkel-Baghmalek road in Khuzestan province has injured three workers.
According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Wednesday, October 9, 2024, an explosion occurred at a stone mine in Khuzestan, leaving three workers injured. The injured workers, aged between 24 and 35, were transported by ambulance to the Madar Hospital in Ramhormoz.
The cause of the explosion is still under investigation, and experts are conducting thorough assessments to determine the reasons behind the incident. However, based on previous accidents in mines across the country, safety experts believe that failure to follow safety protocols and the lack of protective equipment are likely major contributing factors.
This incident follows a previous coal mine explosion in Tabas, South Khorasan province, where 54 miners lost their lives and 61 others were injured.
Iran ranks 102nd globally in terms of workplace safety, a very low position. It is considered one of the most dangerous countries for workers, with many suffering accidents annually due to unsafe working environments.
