Solmaz Hassanzadeh, the sister of Mohammad Hassanzadeh, one of the victims of the 2022 nationwide protests in Bukan, has been released from Urmia prison after an eight-day hunger strike.
According to Kolbarnews, on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, Solmaz Hassanzadeh was released on temporary bail of 500 million tomans, pending the completion of legal proceedings, after being detained for fourteen days. It is noteworthy that she was on a hunger strike for eight days during her detention.
On July 31, 2024, Solmaz Hassanzadeh and her father were detained by security forces while attempting to hold a ceremony commemorating her brother Mohammad’s birthday, who was killed during the 2022 protests.
