Alireza Rezaei, a 20-year-old Kurdish young man from Harsin in Kermanshah Province, is among those killed in the nationwide protests in Tehran and lost his life during the bloody suppression of protesters.

According to Kolbarnews, on Friday, January 9, 2026, Alireza Rezaei was directly targeted by live ammunition fired by suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic during nationwide protests in Shahriar, Tehran, and was killed after being struck by bullets.
The body of this Kurdish young man was found after five days of searching and was handed over to his family.
According to received information, Alireza had recently held his engagement ceremony and lived with his mother. He was raised by his mother under difficult circumstances.
After the killing of this Kurdish citizen, government institutions attempted to portray him as a “government Basij member” by exerting pressure on his family, but Alireza Rezaei’s mother explicitly rejected this claim and did not accept the government’s official narrative.
During the nationwide protests, the families of those killed have faced security pressure, threats, and distortion of narratives by government institutions while mourning their children.
