Piranshahr; Continued Lack of Information on the Fate of a Citizen After 23 Days in Detention

Twenty-three days after the arrest of Sabah Biwareh, a young citizen from Piranshahr, there is still no precise information available regarding his place of detention, legal status, or fate.

According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Thursday, May 14, 2026, Sabah Biwareh, a 23-year-old resident of the village of Kalleh-Kin in Piranshahr County, was arrested after security forces raided his family home without presenting a judicial warrant and transferred him to an undisclosed location.

According to received information, since the time of his arrest, this citizen has only been able to make one brief telephone call to his family. During this period, he has also been deprived of access to legal counsel, in-person family visits, and other legal rights.

Informed sources stated that the continued efforts of Sabah Biwareh’s family to obtain information regarding his condition have thus far remained unsuccessful, and the responsible authorities have provided no clear response regarding his place of detention or the status of his case.

At the time of publication, the reason for Sabah Biwareh’s arrest remains unknown, and security and judicial authorities have not provided any information on the matter.
