Maryam Babakhani, a citizen from Kermanshah and a resident of Isfahan, has been arrested by government forces, and so far no information is available about her condition or place of detention.
According to Kolbarnews, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, Maryam Babakhani was arrested by security forces without the presentation of a judicial warrant, and since her arrest, her family has remained completely unaware of her fate.
Despite the passage of several weeks, security and judicial institutions have provided no official explanation regarding the reason for her arrest, her place of detention, or any possible charges against this Kurdish citizen.
Maryam Babakhani is the sister of “Mousa Babakhani,” who was assassinated by Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces in 2021 in the city of Erbil, the capital of the Kurdistan Region.
Her arrest has taken place amid ongoing concerns about security pressure on the families of Kurdish political activists.
