Mohammad Jafari, a Kurdish citizen from Kermanshah, is among those who lost their lives during the nationwide protests in the city after being shot directly by government forces amid the crackdown on demonstrators.

According to Kolbarnews, Mohammad Jafari, a 41-year-old Kurdish man from Kermanshah, was killed on the evening of Thursday, January 7, 2026, during nationwide protests in the Gol-Sorkh Street area of the city. Based on information received, he was shot from behind by security forces during a chase and pursuit operation and died as a result of his injuries. Mohammad Jafari was the son of Hossein and was married.
His body was buried on Thursday, January 14, 2026, at Behesht-e Zahra Cemetery in Kermanshah.
As of the time of this report, it remains unclear whether Jafari’s family was forced to pay money or sign written commitments in order to receive his body. However, informed sources previously told Kolbarnews that government institutions have demanded sums ranging from 700 million to one billion tomans from families in Kermanshah in exchange for handing over the bodies of those killed during the protests, leaving families with no choice but to comply.
