Farhad Balashzar, a Kurdish Yarsan citizen from Kermanshah, has been identified as another victim of the nationwide protests who lost his life during the suppression of demonstrations in the city.

According to Kolbarnews, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, Farhad Balashzar was directly targeted by live ammunition fired by forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran during nationwide protests in the Pardis township of Kermanshah and died after being struck on the right side of the head.
Farhad Balashzar was originally from the village of Sorkhak Sanjabi, a district of Kermanshah, and after his body was transferred to his hometown, his burial ceremony was held in the same village.
This Kurdish Yarsan citizen was the father of two children, a son and a daughter.
In similar cases, security institutions have pressured the families of protest victims, making the handover of bodies conditional upon forced commitments and imposing security restrictions to the Headstrictions on public burial ceremonies.
