After 26 days since the arrest of Anwar Ghorbani, a Kurdish citizen and civil activist from Kamiyaran, there is still no information available about his condition or place of detention, and this lack of information has increased serious concerns for his family.

According to Kolbarnews, on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, Anwar Ghorbani was arrested by forces of the Intelligence Department of the Islamic Republic of Iran during a raid on his personal residence in the city of Kamiyaran.
According to received information, this arrest was carried out without the presentation of any judicial warrant, and security forces, at the same time as the arrest, searched his home and confiscated a number of his personal belongings.
After nearly one month since the time of arrest, this citizen is still in an uncertain situation and has been deprived of access to a lawyer and visits with his family. The repeated follow-ups by his family with security and judicial institutions have so far been unsuccessful, and no clear response has been provided regarding his condition.
Anwar Ghorbani had previously also been arrested on the evening of Tuesday, September 20, 2022, by security forces at his personal residence in the “Tobreh-Riz” neighborhood of Kamiyaran. During that arrest, more than five vehicles of security forces had raided his place of residence. After going through the interrogation process, he was eventually released temporarily on bail.
The continuation of detention and the lack of information about the fate of this civil activist have increased concerns about his health condition and the circumstances of his detention.
