Ilam; Temporary Release of a Citizen, One of the Detainees of the January Protests, on Heavy Bail

Sasan Pakravan, a citizen from Ilam and one of the detainees of the January (Dey) protests, after nearly three months of detention, was temporarily released from prison upon posting a heavy bail.

According to Kolbarnews on Thursday, April 17, 2026, Sasan Pakravan was released from the Central Prison of Ilam until the end of the judicial process after posting bail in the amount of eight billion tomans and providing the guarantee of an employee.
This citizen had been arrested on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, during a raid by government forces on his family home, accompanied by the use of violence, and was transferred to a detention center.

Based on the information received, security and judicial institutions have attributed charges such as “enmity against God” (moharebeh) and “shooting” to him; charges that, within the framework of the laws of the Islamic Republic, can carry heavy punishments.

Reports also indicate that Sasan Pakravan was deprived of access to basic rights, including communication with his family and access to a lawyer, during his period of detention, and was eventually released temporarily on heavy bail after about three months of detention.
