Nationwide protests; arrest of 16 citizens during nationwide protests in Tehran, Ilam, and Kermanshah

During the nationwide protests, at least 16 citizens were arrested by security forces in the provinces of Kermanshah, Ilam, and Tehran and transferred to unknown locations.

According to Kolbarnews, Iman Alimoradi, Ali Najafi, Mohammad Hasanvand, Bijan Karimian, Mohammadjavad Zarei, Akbar Darvishi, Aref Darvishi, Mohammad Havasi, Sepehr Salehi, Amir Raoufi, Ehsan Maleki, Milad Kiadi, Farzad Shokri, Abolfazl Shadfar, Moein Maleki, and Yazdan Bakhti are among the citizens who have been arrested by security forces in recent days.
Based on received information, Iman Alimoradi was arrested by security forces in Tehran, and Ali Najafi was arrested in the city of Kermanshah. Mohammadjavad Zarei, a citizen from Murmuri, a district of Abdanan, along with Mohammad Hasanvand, 21 years old, and Bijan Karimian, 21 years old, citizens from Darreh Shahr in Ilam Province, were arrested on Thursday, January 1, 2026.

Additionally, Akbar Darvishi, Aref Darvishi, Mohammad Havasi, Sepehr Salehi, Amir Raoufi, Ehsan Maleki, Milad Kiadi, Farzad Shokri, Abolfazl Shadfar, Moein Maleki, and Yazdan Bakhti, all citizens from Dehloran County in Ilam Province were arrested by security forces in this county on December 31, 2025.

According to Kolbarnews, the arrest of these citizens is related to the recent protests in the provinces of Tehran, Kermanshah, and Ilam.
As of the time of drafting this report, no information is available regarding their place of detention, physical condition, or the charges brought against them.

The popular protests, which began on Sunday, December 28, 2025, with strikes by shopkeepers in Tehran, are still ongoing and, according to reports, have spread to at least 32 cities across various provinces of the country.
