Hoshyar Shabani, a Kurdish citizen from Baneh, has been under arrest by Iranian security forces for 52 days and remains in legal limbo in Baneh Prison.

According to Kolbarnews, after completing interrogation procedures at one of the security detention centers in Sanandaj, Hoshyar Shabani was transferred to Baneh Prison on October 3, 2025. Despite 52 days having passed since his initial arrest, he continues to be held without clear charges or trial.
Since his arrest, Mr. Shabani has been denied access to legal counsel and family visits, having only been permitted one brief phone call with his relatives. The judicial authority handling his case has set a temporary release bail of 3 billion tomans.
Hoshyar Shabani was originally arrested on August 19, 2025, by security forces in Baneh. The 27-year-old Kurdish citizen had previously been arrested in September 2021 and released on bail. Later, in late 2022, the Revolutionary Court of Saqqez (sitting in Baneh) sentenced him to one year in prison, of which eight months were suspended for five years.
