Urmia: Construction Worker Dies Amid Lack of Workplace Safety

Due to unsafe working conditions and the absence of proper safety measures, a construction worker in Urmia lost his life after falling from a height.

According to Kolbarnews, on Thursday, May 29, 2025, a construction worker in Urmia died following a fall from an elevated position.

The deceased has been identified as Kanbi Shenodokaneh, a resident of Gosian Margavar village, a rural district in Urmia.

It is worth noting that in 2024, at least 2,042 workers lost their lives in workplace accidents in Iran, and at least 16,113 workers were injured.

Iran currently ranks 102nd in the world in terms of compliance with occupational safety standards, a significantly low ranking.
