Esfarayen; Death of Bijan Ebrahimi, a 31-year-old Kurdish Citizen, During Nationwide Protests

Bijan Ebrahimi, a 31-year-old Kurdish citizen from the village of Tuy, a dependency of Esfarayen County, and the father of two children, is one of those killed during the nationwide protests in this city.

According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Thursday, January 7, 2026, Bijan Ebrahimi, a 31-year-old citizen, was shot with live ammunition by forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps during nationwide protests at Saat Square in Esfarayen and lost his life. He was struck by live bullets to the leg and side.

Following the death of Bijan Ebrahimi, security institutions exerted pressure on his family in an attempt to prevent public information from being released, and the transfer of his body was carried out under strict security supervision and restrictions.
