Shilan Salehi, a citizen from Baneh County and a student at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran, is another of those killed in the nationwide popular protests who lost her life during street repression.

According to Kolbarnews, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, Shilan Salehi was targeted by direct gunfire from government forces during nationwide protests in Tehran and was killed.
Her body was handed over after pressure was exerted on her family and in exchange for a payment of approximately 150 million tomans. Her burial ceremony was held on the evening of Monday, January 26, 2026, at the cemetery of Baneh County.
According to the common practices of security institutions, the handover of the bodies of those killed in protests is often accompanied by threats, pressure, and financial conditions, and families are deprived of holding free mourning ceremonies and of independently informing the public about the circumstances of their loved ones’ deaths.
