Tehran; Death of Mostafa Lotfi During Nationwide Protests

Mostafa Lotfi, a 35-year-old citizen from Kermanshah, has been identified as another victim of the nationwide protests who lost his life during public demonstrations in Tehran.

According to Kolbarnews, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, Mostafa Lotfi was shot and killed during public protests in Tehran after being directly targeted by multiple live bullets fired by the Islamic Republic’s suppression forces.

According to received information, after the killing of this Kurdish citizen, security institutions pressured his family to declare that he had been “killed by the people” and to present him as a “government martyr,” pressure that was met with the family’s clear opposition.

Mostafa Lotfi’s body was buried on Monday, January 12, 2026, under security measures, in the cemetery of Ahmadabad village, a part of Sonqor County in Kermanshah Province. His family faced pressure and security restrictions during the process of receiving his body and holding the burial ceremony.
