A court session was held to review the charges against protest rapper Toomaj Salehi.
According to Kolbarnews, today, Tuesday, February 18, 2025, the court convened to address a new case against Toomaj Salehi, which was filed due to the release of a song. As a result, he faced new legal proceedings and was summoned to court.
Toomaj Salehi had previously been released from prison in December 2024 after serving a one-year sentence for propaganda against the regime.
His lawyer, Mostafa Nili, stated that Branch 5 of the Revolutionary Court of Isfahan had closed Salehi’s 2022 case by issuing a stay of prosecution order. Earlier, his other lawyer, Amir Raeesian, had confirmed that the same court had dismissed the charge of corruption on earth, which had previously led to a death sentence, and had issued an acquittal.
Toomaj Salehi, in announcing the news, stated that another court session regarding this song will be held in the future.
