Saqqez: Hiwa Amini and Bahman Feyzi Sentenced to Prison and Fined

Hiwa Amini and Bahman Feyzi, two civil activists from the city of Saqqez, have been sentenced by the Islamic Republic’s judiciary to a total of ten months in prison and a fine of 20 million tomans.

According to Kolbarnews, the Saqqez Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Mojtaba Jabari, sentenced both Hiws Amini and Bahman Feyzi to five months in prison each on charges of “propaganda against the Islamic Republic.” The prison sentences have been suspended for two years. Additionally, both individuals were each fined 10 million tomans as a supplementary punishment.

On Thursday, March 1, 2025, after one month in detention at an Intelligence Ministry facility in Sanandaj, the two activists were transferred to Saqqez Central Prison. They were later released on bail 100 million tomans each pending the outcome of their court proceedings.

Hiwa Amini and Bahman Feyzi were originally arrested on Wednesday, January 30, 2025, by security forces in Saqqez and subsequently transferred to the IRGC Intelligence detention center in Sanandaj.
