Another achievement of Rojava resistance and support of people in all four parts of Kurdistan abroad was formation of national unity.
What is happening in Rojava is implementation of a plan to reshape Middle East according to interests of powers. In this formulation, will of nations is considered non-existent and their fate, Tom Barrack said; It is handed over to ‘benevolent dictators’ These dictators have been prepared within a long-term plan. This is a model of governance that United States sees as worthy of Middle East. Coalition against ISIS has changed to an alliance with ISIS. Afghanistan was handed over to al-Qaeda and Syria to ISIS. Prisoners of ISIS will be reorganized, educated, armed and released under a different name to souls of any country and any people they want. Small and fragmented proxy forces are no longer there, they are all gathered together and given a state, thus giving them legitimacy and officiality. To hide stench of their crimes, they strip them of their jihadist clothes, put on their coats and perfumes in White House.
Question is whether this genocide will succeed. Answer to this question depends entirely on Kurdish struggle and Kurdish friends, including all classes. Plan is just about to be implemented and has not yet been implemented. We must not allow it to ignite. When conspirator sees that there is a struggle against him, he is forced to reconsider his plan. This is what has happened so far. Tom Barrack wanted to impose his plan in Hewler and make it a reality. What he wanted to impose on Kurds was to surrender all gains to jihadist movement. He thought it would be his last meeting with HSD. But when Rojava decided to resist and all people in all parts of Kurdistan and abroad took to streets, it had to sit down with HSD again, both in Syria and in Hewler. What brought Tom Barrack to negotiating table was story of heroic resistance of fighters and support of people. Every resistance has its heroes. Heroes of this resistance were women from all parts of Kurdistan and around world who instilled fear in Jolani and his allies with their songs. Hero of this resistance is beautiful girl who turns demonstrations in Slemani by chanting slogans on both shoulders of her father. Heroes of this resistance are mother who sends her son to battlefields in Rojava, father who goes to war with his son, cleric who turns pulpit into a battlefield against invaders, they are journalists who have debunked all misrepresentations of Qatari and Saudi media, She is mother who sends money for her cancer drugs to Rojava, he is child who sends his income to Rojava children, it is youth who like martyr Ahmad Hemn Kirkuki crossed border from north, south and east and took up arms of resistance. No one denies importance of diplomacy, but other side will look at position of these heroes before listening to Kurdish negotiators and decide accordingly. We can say with certainty that this heroism of people has not allowed this genocide to recur. This resistance has created such an effect that participants of this massacre have each fallen into a pure rush for themselves. Each one of us says, “Well, I’m not involved,” and makes statements and plans to get out of this embarrassment.
Protecting Rojava is a comprehensive struggle. Discourse of nationalism and Kurdishness is very important to protect Rojava and must continue. This is discourse of unity and brotherhood of Kurdish people in all four parts of Kurdistan. Nationalism and struggle for survival of nation is one of symbols of Rojava. But Rojava carries a message for all humanity, and national discourse is only one of symbols of Rojava. Kurdishness, women’s freedom, environmental protection, women’s and youth’s leadership, freedom of all nations, freedom of religions, brotherhood of nations, etc. are all symbols of West Kurdistan and sum of all these symbols that form existence and ontology of Rojava. Each of these symbols is a battlefield, a pulpit. Rojava has been resisting for more than 14 years based on these symbols. Confining Rojava to a discourse and a symbol means drowning Rojava. It means fighting only from one battlefield, speaking from one pulpit and leaving all other battlefields and pulpits. Rojava is fortress of Kurdish resistance. More battlefields a castle has, stronger it defends itself. Every symbol of Rojava is a battlefield, and every freedom fighter resists on one of these battlefields for one or more symbols. Because Rojava is embodiment of hope of freedom for Kurdish people, but also hope of freedom for other nations and for all humanity. What has kept Rojava on its feet so far is that Rojava discourse has a message for all humanity. Therefore, most of nations of world, from all over world, their sons came to Rojava and sacrificed their lives for survival of this experience. They see their freedom in freedom of Rojava. Even now, thousands of friends of Kurdish people are taking to streets to protect Rojava.
Fascism cannot be answered with fascism. If Erdogan is promoting Turkish fascism, or Jolani has raised flag of Arab fascism, why should we promote Kurdish fascism? It is like shooting an arrow at our leg, cutting off branches under our feet. Brotherhood of nations is such an important symbol that even those who do not believe in it are forced to use it. Erdogan has worked day and night to create war among nations. But every time he goes to pulpit, he talks about brotherhood of Kurds, Arabs and Turks. Why should we Kurds, who have no enmity with any nation, give up brotherhood of nations? Way to fight fascism of Erdogan and Jolani, fascism of Turkishness and Arabism, is not for us to be Kurdish. Only way to combat these is to insist on our Kurdishness, to redefine and build Kurdishness. A Kurdishness that is based on women’s freedom, respects human rights, cares for youth, protects environment, can protect itself, strengthens its social organization, develops its domestic and gender economy and defines and organizes its relations with neighboring nations on basis of equality and justice.
