Quchan; Temporary Release of Majid Oghazi After 47 Days of Arbitrary Detention

Majid Oghazi, a Kurmanj Kurdish citizen from Quchan in Razavi Khorasan Province, was temporarily released from Quchan Prison after 47 days of arbitrary detention and uncertainty.

According to Kolbarnews, on Saturday, January 10, 2026, Majid Oghazi was violently arrested by security forces without the presentation of a judicial warrant and transferred to an undisclosed location. After completing the interrogation process in security detention centers, he was transferred to Quchan Prison and was ultimately released temporarily on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, after 47 days in detention.

According to received information, he was deprived of access to a lawyer during his detention. However, after his transfer to Quchan Prison, he was allowed to have phone contact and family visits.

Majid Oghazi is an electrical engineer and works in the installation and representation of surveillance cameras. He is also an athlete and wrestler and has a young daughter who had been waiting for his return during his detention.
