Mohammad Houshmand, a citizen from Marivan, was sentenced to one year in prison by the Revolutionary Court of this city in a one-minute session.
According to Kolbarnews, on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, through an official notice, Mohammad Houshmand, a resident of the village of Darretafi in Marivan County, was sentenced by the Revolutionary Court of this city to one year in prison on the charge of “membership in one of the country’s opposition groups.” Mr. Houshmand’s trial session had previously been held on September 6, 2025, lasting only one minute and without any opportunity for defense.
Mohammad Houshmand was arrested by security forces on Friday, May 16, 2025, and finally, on June 18, 2025, after 34 days of detention in the Shahramfar detention center in Sanandaj, he was temporarily released on bail pending the completion of legal proceedings.
Mohammad Houshmand had previously also been summoned and interrogated by security forces.
