Abdolreza (Mehdi) Gholkhani, a 42-year-old Kurdish man from Kermanshah, has been identified as another victim of the nationwide protests on Thursday, January 8, 2026, who lost his life due to direct gunfire.

According to Kolbarnews, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, Abdolreza (Mehdi) Gholkhani was directly shot with live ammunition by suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic during nationwide protests in the city of Kermanshah and was killed.
The body of this Kurdish citizen was buried on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Bagh-e Ferdows Cemetery in Kermanshah.
Abdolreza (Mehdi) Gholkhani was born in 1983 and had studied up to secondary school. He worked as a carpenter and was employed as an artisan in a private company.
According to received reports, the process of handing over the bodies of protest victims to their families has in many cases been accompanied by security pressure and restrictions on holding ceremonies, and families have been placed under surveillance and threats by security institutions.
