Ali Gardakaneh, a 27-year-old young man from Kangavar in Kermanshah Province, is another victim of the nationwide protests in this city who was shot directly in the heart with live ammunition by suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic and killed.

According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Thursday, January 8, 2026, Ali Gardakaneh was targeted by direct gunfire in Azadi Square in Kangavar and lost his life.
After enduring security pressures, his family buried his body on January 11, 2026, at the Gardakaneh cemetery.
As of the time of this report, it is not clear whether his family was forced to pay money to receive his body; however, informed sources had previously told Kolbarnews that in similar cases, government institutions have demanded amounts ranging from 700 million tomans to one billion tomans from families in Tehran and Kermanshah in exchange for handing over the bodies of those killed in protests, an issue that in several cases has forced families to pay these sums to receive the bodies of their loved ones.
