Kamiyaran: Construction Worker Dies Due to Lack of Workplace Safety

In the absence of workplace safety and suitable working conditions, a construction worker from Kamiyaran, lost his life after falling from a building.

According to Kolbarnews, on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, a facade worker died after falling from a building due to unsafe working conditions.

The worker has been identified as Aref Chahararkan, a resident of Peshabad village near Kamyaran.

In 2023, 2,115 workers (2,094 men and 21 women) died in work-related accidents, reflecting an 11.3% increase compared to 1,900 fatalities in the previous year.

Iran ranks 102nd globally in workplace safety—a very low ranking—and is one of the most unsafe countries for workers. Each year, numerous workers face accidents or fatalities due to inadequate workplace safety standards.
