Ilam; Continued Lack of Information About the Fate of Mohammadmehdi Makan Nemati

Mohammadmehdi Makan Nemati, a Kurdish citizen from Ilam and a student of English Literature at Islamic Azad University of Ilam, remains in an unknown condition more than one month after his arrest.

According to Kolbarnews, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, Mohammadmehdi Makan Nemati was arrested by the IRGC Intelligence Organization in Ilam and transferred to an unknown location. Since his arrest, no official information has been released regarding his place of detention, physical and legal condition, or the charges against this Kurdish student.

The continued lack of information about the fate of this Kurdish citizen has increased concern among his family and relatives regarding his situation. Holding individuals in an uncertain condition and depriving them of access to basic information about their detention is considered a violation of detainees’ rights.
