Behrouz Izanlou, a 39-year-old Kurdish citizen from Bojnord, remains detained in the city’s prison in an uncertain condition 51 days after his arrest.

According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at 11:00 p.m., security forces raided Behrouz Izanlou’s private residence and violently arrested him without presenting a judicial warrant. According to received information, a stun gun and physical assault were used during the arrest, and he was immediately transferred to an undisclosed location. After the interrogation phase ended, this Kurdish citizen reported that he had been transferred to Bojnord Prison.
Despite more than fifty days having passed since his arrest, no bail has been issued for him, and he has been deprived of the right to temporary release. Informed sources stated that Behrouz Izanlou has been deprived of access to a lawyer and regular family visits during his detention and has only had limited contact with his relatives. No transparent information has been provided regarding the progress of his case or the possible time of his release, and he remains in a state of uncertainty.
