A Sukhtbar was injured after police forces opened fire without warning on two Sukhtbari vehicles in Hirmand County.

According to Kolbarews, on the evening of Friday, March 28, 2025, police forces in Hirmand County fired without prior warning at two Sukhtbari vehicles near the village of Kando, injuring one Sukhtbar.
The injured individual has been identified as Mohammad Sargazi, a resident of Hirmand.
Local sources reported that after the shooting, in which one of the vehicle’s drivers was wounded, the police forces left the scene without providing any explanation.
As of the time of this report, security and judicial authorities have not commented on the reasons behind the shooting.
Sukhtbari considered one of the unconventional and dangerous occupations that many Baloch people in Balochistan are forced to engage in due to the lack of suitable and stable employment opportunities. Accidents, vehicle overturns, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that threaten the lives of Sukhtbars. According to reports by Baloch activists, in 2024, at least 240 Baloch Sukhtbars lost their lives due to shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, while 135 others were injured in these incidents, 19 of whom were children.
