Due to unsafe working conditions and lack of proper safety measures, two workers lost their lives in separate workplace accidents in Saqqez.

According to Kolbarnews, on Monday, October 6, 2025, a welder in Saqqez died in a workplace accident.
Reports indicate that the worker, identified as Rasoul Darabpour, 40 years old, fell from a four-story building under construction in the Zagros district and died instantly.
Earlier, on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, another young worker named Seyed Javad Bahrami, 24 years old and a resident of Saqqez, died after falling into an elevator shaft while working on an unfinished building in the Phase 2 Farhangian district.
It is worth noting that in 2024, at least 2,042 workers lost their lives and at least 16,113 workers were injured in workplace accidents across Iran.
Iran ranks 102nd in the world in terms of occupational safety standards a very low position that highlights the country’s ongoing neglect of workers’ rights and safety conditions.
