Kaziwa Parviznia, a young woman from Mahabad, remains in legal limbo without any judicial determination after more than two weeks in detention and her transfer to Urmia Central Prison.

According to Kolbarnews, on 12 June 2026, Kaziwa Parviznia, a resident of Mahabad, was arrested by security forces and, after being transferred to an undisclosed location, was later moved to Urmia Central Prison following the opening of a judicial case against her.
According to the information obtained, security forces raided her family home without presenting a judicial warrant. As she was not present at the time, they arrested one of her relatives in her place. The family was subsequently informed that the detained relative would be released if Kaziwa Parviznia presented herself to the Intelligence Office. She then reported to the Intelligence Office, where she was arrested and transferred to a detention facility.
According to the report, the charge brought against her is filming previous protests in Mahabad. After undergoing interrogation at an undisclosed location, she was transferred to Urmia Central Prison, where a judicial case was opened against her.
Kazhiwa Parviznia has been denied access to legal counsel and family visits throughout her detention and continues to be held in Urmia Central Prison without any clear judicial determination of her case.
