Tehran: Flogging sentence carried out against Atash Shakarami, aunt of Nika Shakarami

According to a post published by Atash Shakarami, the aunt of Nika Shakarami, on her Instagram account, her flogging sentence has been carried out.

As reported by Kolbarnews, on Monday, November 10, 2025, and based on the statement shared by Atash Shakarami on her Instagram page, the sentence of flogging issued against her was executed.

Nika Shakarami, a 17-year-old girl, disappeared during the nationwide protests of 2022 in Tehran, and her lifeless body was found several days later. She was killed as a result of beatings by security forces.

Atash Shakarami is a prominent member of the justice-seeking families who, over recent months, has repeatedly spoken out against state repression, executions, and systemic injustice in Iran.

The use of inhumane punishments such as flogging is not only a blatant violation of human dignity, but also a continuation of the regime’s policy of intimidation and humiliation of dissidents by the judiciary of the Islamic Republic.
