Ali Armand, an 18-year-old Kurdish teenager from the village of Amirabad, a subdivision of Islamabad-e Gharb County in Kermanshah Province, and a resident of Shahin Shahr, Isfahan, is among those killed during the nationwide protests in this city.

According to Kolbarnews, on Friday, 9 January 2026, Ali Armand, a 17-year-old Kurdish teenager from Islamabad-e Gharb and a resident of Shahin Shahr, Isfahan, was targeted by direct fire from live ammunition by forces of the Islamic Republic during popular protests in Shahin Shahr and was killed.
Following his death, his family remained unaware of his fate for several days until his body was eventually handed over to them after repeated follow-ups. However, security forces did not allow the family to see the body, and the burial ceremony was held under a heavy security atmosphere at one of the cemeteries in Islamabad-e Gharb County.
Ali Armand was active in bodybuilding and had won three gold medals in the sport. At the time of his death, he was preparing to participate in upcoming athletic competitions.
As of the time of this report, it is unclear whether Ali Armand’s family was forced to pay money or sign a written pledge in order to receive his body. Nevertheless, informed sources had previously told Kolbarnews that in similar cases, government institutions have demanded sums ranging from 700 million to one billion tomans from the families of those killed in protests in Kermanshah, forcing some families to pay these amounts in order to retrieve the bodies of their loved ones.
