Sanandaj: Violent Interrogation of Two Civil Activists

Ahmad Qamari, a civil activist and member of the Chel-Chema mountaineering group, and Ali Allahveysi, a civil activist and former political prisoner, were summoned to the Sanandaj Intelligence Office, where they were interrogated and subjected to torture and physical assault.

According to Kolbarnews, on Monday, January 27, 2025, these two individuals were summoned and interrogated with threats, beatings, and mistreatment in connection with the general strike of shopkeepers and merchants in various Kurdish cities. This strike was held in protest against death penalty rulings.

On Wednesday, January 22, 2025, shopkeepers and merchants in cities across Kurdistan, including Sanandaj, Saqqez, Kamiyaran, Bukan, Mahabad, Shabad, Kermanshah, Divandarreh, and Marivan, halted their daily activities and went on strike to protest against the issuance of death sentences.
