The detention order of Chiako Rezaei, an athlete from Sanandaj, was extended for the fourth time by security and judicial authorities, while more than 110 days have passed since his arrest in solitary confinement at the Sanandaj Intelligence Department detention center, and there is still no information available about his physical or legal condition.

According to Kolbarnews, the detention order of Chiako Rezaei, the athlete from Sanandaj, which had previously been valid until December 1, 2025, upon the expiration of this period not only did not lead to his release, but without providing a clear legal explanation, was once again extended until January 10, 2026. These repeated and non-transparent extensions have intensified concerns about the course of his case and his fate.
Based on this report, Chiako Rezaei’s family has received no clear information about their son’s legal status since the time of his arrest, and despite repeated visits to security and judicial institutions, their requests have been met with silence and lack of response. In continuation of this process, a bail order in the amount of one billion tomans had previously been issued for the release of Chiako Rezaei, but despite the availability of the required conditions, this order has not been carried out so far and he remains in detention, a matter that has added to the legal ambiguities of the case.
Chiako Rezaei was arrested on September 5, 2025, without the presentation of a judicial warrant by security forces and transferred to the Sanandaj Intelligence Department detention center.
