Following the arrests of environmental activists from Sanandaj in connection with the holding of the “Zagrosaneh Campaign” ceremony in Ghaleh Hasanabad, another citizen was arrested, raising the number of detainees in this case to three.

According to Kolbarnews, following the arrest of Ramin Salehi and Sabah Salehi, two environmental activists from Sanandaj, Saber Salehi, another citizen of this city, was also arrested by security forces on Saturday, December 27, 2025.
Previously, Ramin Salehi, an environmental activist and a member of the “Ghaleh Hasanabad” mountaineering group, was violently arrested at around 11:30 a.m. at his workplace, without the presentation of a judicial warrant, during a raid by several security vehicles, and was transferred to an unknown location.
A few hours later, his cousin, Sabah Salehi, was arrested in his private garden, handcuffed and blindfolded, and without the presentation of a judicial warrant. During these arrests, reports were published of insulting behavior by security forces toward fallen environmental activists of Kurdistan.
Based on received information, Saber Salehi is the third person arrested in this case, and his arrest is also related to participation in the “Zagrosaneh Campaign” ceremony, which was held in Ghaleh Hasanabad, Sanandaj.
The “Zagrosaneh Campaign” is an annual environmental program organized by civil associations and grassroots groups with the aim of raising public awareness and protecting nature.
