Majid (Najm al-Din) Daryaei, a resident of Oshnavieh County, was transferred to the city’s prison to serve his sentence after completing judicial procedures and receiving an official summons for the enforcement of his verdict an action that follows years of pressure, arrests, and judicial persecution against him and his family members.

According to Kolbarnews, on Sunday, January 19, 2026, Majid Daryaei, a resident of Oshnavieh, was transferred to the county prison to serve his prison sentence after receiving an enforcement summons from Branch One of the Criminal Sentences Enforcement Office of the Oshnavieh Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office.
This summons had previously been formally delivered to him on January 5, 2026.
Based on available information, in June 2025, Majid Daryaei was sentenced by Branch 101 of the Oshnavieh Criminal Court No. 2 to one year of discretionary imprisonment on the charge of “propaganda activity in favor of opposition parties.” Prior to the issuance of this verdict, on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, he had been summoned to Branch One of the Investigative Office of the Oshnavieh Public and Revolutionary Prosecutor’s Office, where he defended himself against the charge. After the formal charge was presented, he was temporarily released on bail pending trial.
Majid Daryaei has previously been subjected to repeated security pressure. On the evening of January 24, 2018, he was arrested without a judicial warrant after security forces raided his home, on the charge of “political activity by one of his sons named Akam Daryaei.” Prior to that, this Kurdish citizen had been repeatedly threatened with arrest by security agencies.
Eventually, on January 29, 2019, Majid Daryaei, along with five other residents of Oshnavieh, was collectively sentenced to 16 years and six months in prison. Under these rulings, Majid Daryaei was sentenced to two years in prison on the charge of “cooperation with one of the Kurdish parties.” In addition, Fattah Alikord from the village of Narziweh was sentenced to three years and six months, Younes Sharifi from Oshnavieh to three years and six months, Hamed Zarifeh from the village of Khorest to three years, Mohammad Amin Fazli from the village of Bimzarti to two years, and Mohammad Mahmoudtash from the village of Khorest to two years and six months in prison.
Continuing the security pressure against this political prisoner’s family, on June 20, 2021, one of Majid Daryaei’s sons, Najib Daryaei, was also arrested by security forces at his workplace without a judicial warrant. He had previously been detained by security forces and released after completing an earlier interrogation period.
