Mehdi Mousavi, Mohammad Mousavi, Abolfazl Khaledi, Bahman Fattahi, Farhad Eyvazi, Masih Jalil, and Hossein Mounesi, seven citizens from Lordegan in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Province were killed by direct gunfire from forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran during popular protests.

According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Wednesday, January 8, 2026, Hossein Mounesi (21), Mehdi Mousavi (27), Abolfazl Khaledi (24), Bahman Fattahi (Milasi) married and a father of two, Mohammad Mousavi, Farhad Eyvazi, and Masih Jalil were shot dead after being directly targeted by government forces during protests in Lordegan.
Reports indicate that this killing was part of an intense crackdown on nationwide protests in the city, and videos sent from the scene show government forces using live ammunition against protesters.
With these deaths, the number of people killed in Lordegan in recent days has risen to nine. Previously, Kolbarnews had reported the killing of two other citizens, Ahmad Jalil (21) and Sajjad Valamanesh during protests on Wednesday, January 1, 2026.
So far, families’ efforts to seek justice have yielded no results, and no information has been released regarding legal action or prosecution of those responsible for the killing of these citizens.
