Kurdistan: Disciplinary Rulings Issued for 17 Teachers; Dismissal of 8 Confirmed

Seventeen teachers in Kurdistan have recently faced heavy disciplinary rulings issued by the Administrative Violations Board of the Ministry of Education. The rulings include permanent dismissal, temporary suspension, forced retirement, administrative relocation, and bans from holding managerial positions.

According to Kolbarnews, citing the Coordinating Council of Iranian Teachers’ Trade Associations, the finalized decisions were communicated to the teachers in recent days. Based on the ruling, eight teachers have been permanently dismissed from their profession, seven of whom had more than 20 years of service and most held master’s degrees. According to the report, three teachers have been temporarily suspended, three others were forced into retirement with demotions, one teacher received administrative exile, and two were banned from assuming managerial positions.

These decisions were issued following reviews by the Administrative Court of Justice and the Administrative Violations Board and were officially announced to the teachers on December 10, 2025.

Teachers permanently dismissed;

  1. Majid Karimi (Sanandaj) MA in Political Science, 23 years of ,service
  2. Qias Nemati (Sanandaj), MA in Clinical Psychology, 18 years
  3. Jahangir Bahmani (Sanandaj), MA in Physics, 23 years
  4. Omid Shah-Mohammadi (Divandarreh), MA in Biology, 26 years
  5. Parviz Ahsani (Divandarreh), MA in Geology, 21 years
  6. Kaveh Mohammadzadeh (Divandarreh), MA student in Sociology, 22 years
  7. Hiwa Qureshi (Divandarreh), MA in Literature, 26 years
  8. Somayeh Akhtarshomar (Marivan), BA in English, 18 years

According to Majid Karimi, two of the dismissed teachers were also permanently disqualified from holding any governmental position.

Temporary suspension (6 months to one year)

  1. Shahram Karimi (Saqqez),18 years of service
  2. Loqmanollah Moradi (Saqqez), 26 years
  3. Salah Hajimirzaei (Sanandaj), 27 years

Forced retirement with demotion

  1. Nasrin Karimi (Sanandaj), 26 years, demoted two ranks
  2. Leila Zarei (Sanandaj), 32 years, demoted one rank
  3. Soleyman Abdi (Saqqez) 30 years, demoted two ranks

Administrative exile

  1. Faisal Nouri (Sanandaj), MA in Mathematics, transferred to Kermanshah.

Prohibition from managerial positions

  1. Mohyeddin Reyhani (Sanandaj), barred for five years
  2. Taban Hadadian (Sanandaj), barred for one year + three months salary deduction
