Three teacher union activists from Khuzestan have been summoned to appear on November 6, 2024, at Branch 3 of the Ahvaz Revolutionary Court.

According to Kolbarnews, quoting the Coordinating Council of Iranian Teachers’ Trade Associations, Koukab Badaqi-Pegah, Ali Koroshat, and Sadegh Chehrazi face charges including “assembly and collusion against national security,” “propaganda against the regime,” “formation of a group,” and “disrupting public order.” They have been summoned for a court hearing on November 6, 2024.

In response, the Coordinating Council of Iranian Teachers’ Trade Associations stated that such charges and pressures against union activists, particularly those in education, constitute a violation of citizens’ basic legal rights. The Council emphasized that accusations like “assembly and collusion against national security” and “disrupting public order” are often leveled against union activists to suppress their lawful and rightful advocacy. It called for an end to these unjust cases against union activists and urged authorities to stop using the Revolutionary Court as a means to silence teachers and workers.
