Khuzestan: Nine Farmers Injured in Pickup Truck Accident

Nine farmers, including seven female workers, were injured in a collision between a pickup truck carrying farmers and a passenger car on the Shush highway in Khuzestan province.

According to Kolbarews, the accident occurred on Tuesday, March 25, 2025. Following the collision, emergency services quickly transferred the injured to nearby medical centers. However, no further details have been released regarding the cause of the accident or the current condition of the victims.

Rural and intercity roads in Khuzestan are frequently used by seasonal laborers, making road safety a persistent concern. This incident has once again raised alarms over the unsafe conditions these workers face.

In 2023, 2,115 workers (including 2,094 men and 21 women) lost their lives due to workplace accidents an 11.3% increase compared to the previous year, where 1,900 fatalities were recorded. Iran currently ranks 102nd globally in workplace safety, reflecting significant shortcomings in labor protection. Each year, many workers across the country suffer due to inadequate workplace safety standards.
