Reza Haji-Moradi, a citizen from Islamabad-e Gharb in Kermanshah Province and a resident of Karaj, is another victim of the nationwide protests in Karaj who was killed during the crackdown on protesters by direct fire from live ammunition by government forces.

According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Thursday, January 9, 2026, Reza Haji-Moradi was directly shot with live ammunition by suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic during the nationwide protests in Fardis, Karaj, sustaining gunshot wounds to the chest and lungs and dying immediately.
After intense security pressure and significant difficulty, his body was handed over to his family and identified among hundreds of other bodies in Fardis, Karaj.
Based on the information obtained, a large number of the bodies of those killed were being densely stored inside a warehouse.
His funeral was initially scheduled for the afternoon of Sunday, January 11, 2026, in Qasr-e Shirin. However, after his father was summoned by the Intelligence Office, the ceremony was prevented, and the family was forced to bury his body secretly, without a public funeral, at 10:00 a.m. on the same day.
Reza Haji-Moradi was a tattoo artist who had moved to Karaj with his wife for professional advancement and had lived there for several years. He was originally from Islamabad-e Gharb and had resided in neighborhoods including Shahriarshahr and Vali-e Asr in Karaj.
The handover of the bodies of those killed in the protests is typically accompanied by severe security pressure and control by government institutions. In many cases, families are placed under direct surveillance to restrict details of funeral ceremonies, the number of participants, and burial locations, forcing families to carry out burials secretly and under strict limitations.
