Karaj; Death of Moein Abbaspour, a Young Kurdish Man from Ilam, During Nationwide Protests

Moein Abbaspour, a young Kurdish man from Ilam and a resident of Golshahr, Karaj, is another victim of the protests in this city who lost his life after being directly and deliberately shot in the heart with live ammunition by suppressive forces of the Islamic Republic.

According to Kolbarnews, on the evening of Thursday, January 8, 2026, Moein Abbaspour, son of Qasem, born in Ilam and a resident of the Golshahr neighborhood of Karaj, was shot directly in the heart during nationwide protests and lost his life.
After the incident, his mother held his body in her arms until morning in order to prevent it from being seized by security forces.

After enduring many difficulties, the family was able to transfer the body of Moein Abbaspour to Ilam and bury him there. This action by the family demonstrates resistance against attempts by security institutions to control or confiscate the bodies of victims.

Moein Abbaspour was one of the young Kurdish men from Ilam who actively participated in the nationwide protests, and with this state killing, his family and local community were left grieving.
