Islamabad-e Gharb; Deaths of Shirzad Balaei and Fardin Fouladi by Direct Gunfire from Government Forces

Shirzad Balaei and Fardin Fouladi, two young men from Islamabad-e Gharb County, were killed by forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran during nationwide protests in the city.

According to Kolbarnews, on Thursday, January 8, 2026, Shirzad Balaei and Fardin Fouladi lost their lives after being directly shot by government forces.
Based on information received from informed sources, the bodies of these two victims were buried on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at Cheshmeh Khani Chikan Mansouri cemetery.
These sources also emphasized that, despite pressure and threats from government institutions, the families of the victims held the burial ceremonies independently and under their own management.

With these two cases included, the number of citizens killed during the protests in Islamabad-e Gharb has reached four. Previously, the killings of Helako Ivani and Amirali Jalilian had also been reported.
