In a vehicle accident in Iranshahr County, two Sukhtbars, including a child, were killed and injured.
According to Kolbarnews, on Monday, September 2, 2024, a tire burst on a Sukhtbari vehicle on the Pahreh-Sarbaz road caused the vehicle to overturn.
The driver was severely injured and later died after being transferred to the hospital, while his child was also injured.
The deceased Sukhtbar has been identified as “Aziz Eidouzehi (Barahoui),” approximately 34 years old, married, and a father.
The injured child is identified as “Imran Eidouzehi (Barahoui),” 11 years old, son of Aziz. Both were residents of Zahedan County.
The accident occurred on the Pahreh (Iranshahr) to Sarbaz road within Iranshahr County when the tire of Aziz’s Toyota pickup truck burst during driving, leading to the vehicle’s overturn. Aziz was severely injured and later died at the Hospital in Iranshahr due to the severity of his injuries. His child, who was with him, suffered minor injuries.
Sukhtbari is considered an unconventional and hazardous job that many Baluch people in Baluchistan are forced into due to the lack of suitable and stable employment. Accidents, vehicle rollovers, and direct shootings by military and security forces are some of the dangers that Sukhtbars face.
According to reports from Baluch activists, in the first six months of 2024, at least 133 Baluch Sukhtbars have died from shootings by military forces, traffic accidents, and vehicle fires, with another 80 injured in these incidents, including nine children.
