Bushehr: Sentencing of Trade Union Activist Mohsen Omrani to Imprisonment

Mohsen Omrani, a member of the board of directors of the Bushehr Teachers’ Trade Association, has been sentenced to one year in prison by the Revolutionary Court of this county.

According to Kolbarnews, Mohsen Omrani was sentenced to one year of imprisonment by the Revolutionary Court of Bushehr. 

The verdict against this teachers’ union activist was issued on charges of “propaganda against the regime.” It is reported that the publication of certain materials on social media constituted the basis for the charges against Mr. Omrani.

It is noteworthy that after being informed of the verdict, Mr. Omrani attempted to obtain a complete transcription of it from the court but was denied permission to do so.

The Coordinating Council of Iranian Teachers’ Trade Associations has expressed its support for Mohsen Omrani, calling for the annulment of this sentence and an end to the fabrication of cases against teachers’ union activists.

It should be noted that Mohsen Omrani has a history of extensive union activities and has been arrested and summoned multiple times in the past.
