Bukan: A Citizen Sentenced to Prison

Hiwa Bahin, a resident of Bukan has been sentenced to six months of imprisonment by the judicial system of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to Kolbarnews, Hiwa Bahin was convicted by Branch 101 of the Second Criminal Court of Bukan, presided over by Judge Fakhri, on charges of “propaganda against the Islamic Republic of Iran.” The verdict was issued and communicated to him on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

Hiwa Bahin had been arrested on November 25, 2024, after being summoned to the Intelligence Office in Bukan. He was subsequently transferred to a security detention center in Urmia for interrogation and later moved to Bukan Prison.

On December 2, 2024, he was temporarily released from Bukan Prison after posting a bail of 600 million tomans, pending the completion of legal proceedings.
