Zahedan: Several Baloch Citizens Injured, Homes Demolished in Military Raid on Two Villages

A military raid on the villages of Manzel-Ab and Locho near Zahedan led to the destruction of residents’ homes and injuries to several Baloch citizens.

According to Kolbarnews, citing local sources in Balochistan, on the morning of Monday, February 3, 2025, forces from the Housing Foundation and the Roads and Urban Development Department, accompanied by dozens of military and security personnel, stormed these villages and demolished several residential homes.

Reports indicate that local residents protested the operation, but security forces attacked them with batons, injuring at least two people. Several citizens were also arrested, but after resistance from locals, the military forces were forced to release them.

The raid occurred around 5 AM, with government forces using at least 30 light vehicles and heavy machinery to demolish homes without presenting a court order and ignoring residents’ objections.

Over the past year, security and government agencies of the Islamic Republic of Iran have carried out at least 21 cases of home demolitions and land seizures in five Baloch-majority cities. The highest numbers were reported in Chabahar (8 cases) and Zahedan (7 cases).

As of the time of this report, the identities of the injured citizens remain unknown.
